About Doug Tarry 

Doug Tarry is the President of Doug Tarry Homes (DTH), a multi-award-winning home building company established in 1954 and located in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada. Recently DTH celebrated being the first builder to build and label 500 Net Zero Ready homes in Canada under the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) Net Zero Program.  Since 2019, all new homes constructed by DTH have been built to Net Zero Ready as the minimum standard, a significant improvement over a code-built home.Besides serving on numerous industry boards and committees including local, provincial, and national Home Builders Associations and green energy/environmental focused organizations, Doug has delivered presentations and training about building code changes as well as high performance/Net Zero homes to builders, building officials and industry stakeholders, and he works with manufacturers and researchers to support research and innovation in the building and construction industry. In his recently published book, “From Bleeding Edge to Leading Edge: A Builders Guide to Net Zero Homes” Doug shares his philosophies, processes, concepts, and experience as he believes we should all work towards the greater good of our people and our planet: “Always leave your campsite better than you found it” (Doug Tarry Sr).
