The EEBA Board has approved two motions that reflect the best of EEBA: growing its leadership bench while honoring the people who built it.
Megan Cordes Joins the Executive Committee
Megan Cordes, Director of Sustainability and Building Science at Beazer Homes, has been elected to EEBA's Executive Committee. Megan joined the EEBA Board in 2026, and this move puts her in a more active leadership role, shaping the nonprofit's direction.
Megan brings a track record that speaks for itself. Under her leadership, Beazer became the first national homebuilder to deliver 100% of its new homes to match or exceed the DOE's Efficient New Homes (formally Zero Energy Ready Home) standard, a milestone the company reached last year, while also picking up four RESNET awards.
She'll bring that same perspective to the stage in September as part of the High Performance Home Builder Summit opening keynote, "Opening Remarks and DOE Efficient New Homes Builder Panel," joining builders and DOE representatives to discuss what selling high-performance homes looks like after 45L, strategies for maintaining affordability without sacrificing performance, and where federal programs go from here.
Gene Myers Named Emeritus Board Member
The Board has also voted to appoint Gene Myers, CEO of Thrive Home Builders, as Emeritus Board Member.
Gene's influence is all over EEBA's history. A past Board Chair and one of the community's longest-standing champions, he's backed up that credibility with decades of hands-on building experience. Thrive has led energy-efficient home building in metro Denver for more than 25 years, serving buyers from first-time to luxury without compromising on performance. Thrive's signature double 2x4 wall assembly helped the company build more Certified Zero Energy Ready homes than any other builder in the country in 2017, and today every Thrive home is built DOE ENH (Zero Energy Ready) and LEED Certified, with Thrive standing as Denver's largest builder of EPA Indoor airPLUS-qualified homes.
Emeritus status is a well-earned recognition of Gene's years of leadership, including his time as Board Chair, and keeps him woven into the fabric of EEBA.
